Zodiac Premium Galleys has been developing galleys since 1954. In the pre-1950s Professor Werner Sell made a name for himself in industrially fitted kitchens. Its first galley for the aviation industry was installed in the very first Super Constellation aircraft of Deutsche Lufthansa AG. In the years after, new aircraft were launched in the industry. The B707, B747 and DC10, all had the Zodiac Premium Galleys installed, thanks to their innovative technology and successful track record. In 1986, Zodiac Premium Galleys delivered its 10,000th galley to Lufthansa and in 2010 another industry record was broken. Emirates Airlines took delivery of the 40,000th Premium Galley.
Since September 2010, Sell has been part of the Zodiac Aerospace. The Galley Inserts activities of Sell are integrated in the Cabin branch of Zodiac Aerospace and supported by three entities:
- Zodiac Premium Galleys, specialized in wide body B767, B747, B777 galleys for Boeing and A330, A380 galleys for Airbus.
- Zodiac Galleys Europe, located in the Czech Republic, dedicated to narrow body A320 galleys and wide body A330 galleys and Crew Rests for Airbus.
- Zodiac Galleys USA, based in California, focuses on narrow body B737 galleys for Boeing and IFE VCC monuments.
